UB40 occurs as popular dub / reggae pop music band formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England. A band can be the world's virtually all unfeeling diverse dub reggae band sustaining musicians of English, Scottish, Irish, Yemeni and Jamaican parentage. A band is known as from either a paper form issued per U.K. for claiming unemployment benefits (UB40 = Unemployment Benefits, Form 40); during a Thatcher years, British slang referred to unemployed when UB40s.

UB40 were influenced per several Blues Parties they attended as teen within multiracial Birmingham, their love of ska and reggae inspired such original tracks as "King", "Madam Medusa", "Food for thought", "Signing Off" & "One in Ten", afterwards covered by 808 State.

Their early music style was unique, by having the heavily influence of analogue synthesizers, psychedelic rock guitar, saxophone and dub producer techniques which were later perfected per late Pablo Falconer.

the band purchased its 1st instruments by having compensation money Ali Campbell received fallowing a bar fight. It will have the total of hits, virtually all commercially & to amusement of the band, "Red Red Wine", a cover version of a Neil Diamond song (in an arrangement similar thereto of Tony Tribe's version).

Numerous of UB40's late recordings were inspired by 1960's ska & early lovers rock songs that would stand otherwise been forgotten in the glare. Their freshly injection of life into thus numerous old Jamaican hits has resulted around several musicians & producers renewed popularity & income.
